Tonga’s first National Health Information System (NHIS), and the first integrated national health information system in the Pacific; will enable two-way communication between planned and existing health data systems, allowing for health information reporting that meets the needs of different users and decision-makers; and the digitization of paper-based health data collection methods, including reporting of births and deaths (supporting data links through the Civil Registration for Vital Statistics between the Ministries of Health and Justice).
